Regulation 7

Duties of ship repair manager

Subregulation 1

It shall be the duty of —

(a)

in the case of a ship in a shipyard, the occupier of the shipyard; and

(b)

in the case of a ship in a harbour, the master, owner or agent of the ship,to appoint a ship repair manager to take charge of and co-ordinate all activities relating to the construction or repair of the ship.

Subregulation 2

It shall be the duty of the person referred to in paragraph (1)(a) or (b), as the case may be, to ensure that no person is appointed as a ship repair manager unless the person has received adequate safety and health training to ensure that he is able to co-ordinate safely all activities relating to the construction or repair of the ship.
