Regulation 79
It shall be the duty of the occupier of a worksite where any excavation work is carried out to ensure that —
(a)
safe access to and egress from the excavation in the worksite is provided where persons are required to work in the excavation; and
(b)
the access or egress referred to in paragraph (a) is sufficient in numbers and installed in such locations so as to be readily accessible.
