Permission for service out of Singapore
Subregulation 1
Despite Order 8 of the Rules of Court —
where a document is filed in an originating application by which any proceedings in respect of a protection order, a false statement order or an interim false statement order is begun, the court may also grant permission for the document to be served out of Singapore, if the court is satisfied that —
the person to be served is not in Singapore; and
the case is a proper one for the service of the document out of Singapore;
the court may grant such approval without an application under Order 8, Rule 1 of the Rules of Court; and
the court may be satisfied of the matters referred to in sub‑paragraph (a)(i) and (ii) by any information contained in any document filed in the originating application.
Subregulation 2
Paragraph (1) applies, with the necessary modifications, to the grant of permission for a document filed in simplified proceedings to be served out of Singapore.
