Coroner may summon witnesses
(1)
A Coroner shall have and exercise all the powers of a Magistrate’s Court with regard to summoning and compelling the attendance of witnesses and requiring them to give evidence and with regard to the production of any document or thing at any inquiry held by him.
(2)
Every summons and warrant of arrest and summons to produce shall be in writing signed by the Coroner and shall bear his seal of office. [Forms 47 to 50.]
(3)
Such summons to appear or summons to produce shall ordinarily be served by a police officer, but the Coroner may, if he sees fit, direct it to be served by some other person.
(4)
The provisions of Chapters V and VI shall, as far as may be, apply in relation to summonses, warrants, and summonses to produce issued by a Coroner. [284
