Section 289

Right of accused person to examine medical officer

Where at any inquiry the report of the medical officer who has made a post mortem examination of the body of a deceased person is received in evidence and any person who is charged with having caused the death of the deceased person or with having been accessory thereto desires to examine that medical officer, he may require the Coroner to summon the medical officer and the Coroner, when so required, shall thereupon summon that medical officer as a witness for the prosecution.
