Registrant may be served at address in register
Subregulation 1
Subject to this rule, for the purposes of any proceedings under the Act —
a document (including an originating process) may be served on the registrant of a geographical indication by serving the document in the manner prescribed by Order 7 of the Rules of Court at the address for service given in the register; but(b)if any provision of the Rules of Court requires a response to a document served under sub‑paragraph (a) within a specified time limit (whether by filing and serving a notice of intention to contest or not contest or otherwise), that time limit is extended by 7 days.
Subregulation 2
Paragraph (1)(a) ceases to apply when the registrant has provided an address for service within the meaning of Order 4, Rule 8 of the Rules of Court.
Subregulation 3
This rule does not prevent the registrant from being served in accordance with the Rules of Court.
