155. Instant tea
Feedback & supportInstant tea shall be prepared from wholesome leaves of any of the varieties of Camellia sinesis and shall be in the form of free-flowing powder.
Instant tea shall contain —
not more than 15% (w/w) total ash;
not more than 6% (w/w) moisture;
not less than 4% (w/w) caffeine;
not less than 7% (w/w) tannin; and
no added colouring matter.
Instant tea shall dissolve in boiling water in 30 seconds with moderate stirring and the infusion shall have the colour, taste and flavour of freshly brewed tea.
Subregulation 1
