Application to extend period of registration

An application to extend the period of registration of a design shall be made in Form D8.

The application to extend the period of registration of a design shall not be made —
(a)
earlier than 6 months before; or
(b)
later than 6 months after,the date of expiry of the current period of registration of the design.

Where an application to extend the period of registration of a design is made within 6 months after the date of expiry of the current period of registration, the application for extension in Form D8 shall be accompanied by the payment of the prescribed late fee.
