IFR departure limitations
Subregulation 1
A CGAC holder must ensure that a complex general aviation operation that is to be carried out in accordance with the Instrument Flight Rules is not commenced when weather conditions at the departure aerodrome are below the prescribed IFR landing minima, unless meteorological reports and forecasts indicate that a successful approach and landing can be made at the take‑off alternate aerodrome.
Subregulation 2
A CGAC holder must not conduct any low visibility operation during a complex general aviation operation unless the low visibility operation is conducted under and in accordance with an approval granted by the Director‑General of Civil Aviation under the Air Navigation (98 — Special Operations) Regulations 2018 for that purpose.
Subregulation 3
In this regulation, “low visibility operation” means —
a Category II or III approach and landing; or
a take‑off with an RVR of less than 400 m, or such higher value that is specified by the competent authority of the State of the Aerodrome.
