Education Committee
of Nurses and Midwives Regulations 2012
Subregulation 1
The Board may appoint a committee to be known as the Education Committee.
Subregulation 2
The Education Committee shall consist of at least 4 members of the Board and such number of other persons as the Board may decide.
Subregulation 3
The Board shall appoint a member of the Education Committee as the chairman of the Committee.
Subregulation 4
The term of office of the members and the quorum of the Education Committee shall be determined by the Board.
Subregulation 5
The Education Committee shall —
make recommendations to the Board regarding the accreditation of courses in Singapore for the purposes of registration or enrolment;
make recommendations to the Board regarding the accreditation of courses in Singapore which provide qualifications in nursing or midwifery in addition to those required for registration or enrolment;
consider applications for accreditation of courses referred to in sub-paragraph (b), and advise the Board whether to approve the application, and the conditions or restrictions, if any, to be imposed;
make recommendations to the Board regarding the accreditation of institutions in Singapore offering any of the courses referred to in sub-paragraphs (a) and (b); and
make recommendations to the Board regarding the training and education of registered nurses, enrolled nurses and registered midwives.
