Amendment of section 86
of Civil Defence Shelter and Fire Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill
In the FS Act, in section 86 —
in subsection (1), delete paragraph (a); and
after subsection (3), insert —“(4) In addition, where the Commissioner enters any place in exercise of the power under subsection (1)(c), the Commissioner may do one or more of the following in the place:
take with him or her any assistance or equipment;
take photographs or video recordings of and conduct any inspection, measurement or test of the place or anything found in the place;
take, without payment, for the purpose of examination and testing reasonable samples of any substance found in the place;
do any other thing reasonably necessary for carrying out the purpose to which his or her exercise of that power relates.”.
