Saving and transitional provisions for this Part
of Civil Defence Shelter and Fire Safety (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill
(1)
Where, immediately before the applicable date, a person holds a licence granted under Part 6 of the FS Act in relation to the carrying on of a regulated activity that is in force immediately before that date —
the licence continues in force subject to subsection (2); and
the FS Act as in force immediately before the applicable date continues to apply in relation to that licence.
(2)
The licence mentioned in subsection (1) continues in force until the earliest of the following:
the date on which the person, pursuant to a condition precedent of the applicable class licence as described in section 84C(2) of the FS Act as inserted by section 21, notifies the Commissioner of the person’s identity and other particulars about the regulated activity carried on by the person;
the date the licence would have expired under Part 6 of the FS Act as in force immediately before the applicable date;
the date the licence is cancelled under section 89 of the FS Act.

“applicable date” means the date of commencement of section 19;

“regulated activity” has the meaning given by section 84A(5) of the FS Act as inserted by section 21.
