The Edusave Scholarship for Independent Schools is awarded each year to every pupil at the pre-university one level who satisfies all the following requirements:

(a)

the pupil is a citizen of Singapore or becomes a citizen of Singapore in that year;

(b)

the pupil is not the holder of any other academic award in that year;

(c)

the pupil is enrolled in an independent school for the pupil’s pre-university education;

(d)

the pupil —

(i)

has demonstrated consistently good academic performance for the duration of the pupil’s education at the secondary three and secondary four levels of the integrated programme that the pupil is enrolled in, as determined by the independent school the pupil is enrolled in for the pupil’s pre-university education; or

(ii)

has sat for the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination in the previous year and stands among the 5% of all pupils who have sat for the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination in that year and obtained the best aggregate scores.

For the purposes of paragraph (1)(d)(ii), a pupil’s aggregate score for the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination is computed —

(a)

where the pupil is in the Express stream — from the pupil’s best grades for the relevant subjects across up to 2 sittings of the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination; or

(b)

where the pupil is in the Normal (Academic) stream — from the pupil’s best grades for the relevant subjects across up to 3 consecutive sittings of the GCE ‘O’ Level Examination.
