Regulation 18A

Requirements for operating vessel

The operator of a vessel must ensure that the following requirements are complied with when the vessel is in a reservoir or waterway:

(a)

where an authorised officer has sealed a toilet or discharge valve on a vessel to prevent the toilet or discharge valve from being used or opened while the vessel is in a reservoir or waterway, the seal is not removed or damaged;

(b)

every person on board the vessel wears a personal flotation device, unless the vessel is a commercial water taxi, a river cruise or an amphibious tour vessel;

(c)

the vessel only anchors at an area designated by the Board for anchoring;

(d)

the vessel does not berth at a pontoon owned by the Board unless prior written approval is given by an authorised officer;

(e)

where an event is approved under regulation 24 and the vessel is not a part of the event —

(i)

the vessel keeps clear of the area designated for purposes of the event; and

(ii)

every person on the vessel complies with any instruction on the safe conduct of the event that is given by any official of the event who has been approved as an official of the event as part of the approval granted under regulation 24;

(f)

no washing of the vessel takes place;

(g)

the hull of the vessel is not painted with paint containing tributyltin, cuprous oxide or other biocides.
